GREAT BARRINGTON — One ventricle of Housatonic’s beating heart is about to be revived. Krissy Williams, a Stockbridge native and former semi-professional soccer player, is opening a sports bar at the former Brick House Pub location on Park Street.

Housatonic — Residents and other fans of the village’s former Brick House Pub/Macano Inn will be pleased to know that the place is not dead; it has only been hibernating. While local chef Krissy Williams is not reopening the Brick House, she is creating a pub, a new establishment named the Common or Garden Pub.

The Serial Eater was curious about the most recent incarnation of the Brick House Pub in Housatonic. Now born as a sports, music and casual spot modeled in the tradition of Scottish pubs, they aim to highlight soccer (the owner is a former semi-pro player), community and decent pub fare.
